It is beautiful outside and I actually was looking forward to knocking out some projects at work today but, alas, I'm home sick with a raging sinus headache, sore throat, and wicked cough. Now that I've slept off the Benedryl I am bored out of my mind. I thought I'd pull out ye olde 101 things to do in 1001 days list and update my progress.
Done:
31. Go vegetarian 5 days out of the week. I have only had meat once this week and am filling up on veggies, black beans, and tofu. I think this is certainly a change I can stick with as a). vegetarian food is delicious and b). my grocery bill has been greatly reduced.
43. Quit using plastic bags. I have my Publix canvas bags in the back of the car for groceries and I carry a tote bag with me to put in other purchases.
44. Switch to a Brita pitcher to save money and eliminate waste. My dad bought me a Brita pitcher
92. Get my driver's license. Not only do I now have a license I have a car as well and am scooting around town!
93. Get back on my medication like I should. I went back on my medication and after a week of puking up everything I ate and feeling like shit in general I am finally feeling good.
In Progress:
1. Make 25 things for Etsy shop. I have made one scarf and am working a few more projects at the moment. My goal is to make 5 to 7 things and then set up the shop. I'll post the link to the shop when I get done.
30. Bake goodies twice a month and give them away to family, friends, and coworkers. Last week I made homemade peanut butter cookies and this weekend I'm thinking it will be chocolate chip.
46. Cut my Netflix queue by watching 100 DVDs. In the past few weeks I have watched Wristcutters, Army of Darkness, Sweeney Todd, and Control. Only 96 more to go!
51. Get 5 more tattoos. Sam gave me the zombie librarian tattoo a few weeks ago, so I have 4 more to go!
75. Actually go to the movies (not kid's movies) 6 times a year. I saw Iron Man a few weeks ago and am looking forward to seeing The Hulk sometime this week.
96. Apply to graduate school. Sunday was spend drafting essays. My goal is to have all the stuff turned in by the end of July.
Upcoming:
2. Conquer my fear of the sewing machine. I actually pulled out the machine today and yesterday I went and bought a pattern for a simple apron.
4. Make matching aprons for Hope and I. See above!
23. Bake bread once a month. This weekend I am going to attempt homemade (non-bread machine) bread baking.
57. Buy another set of bookshelves / organize books. A friend gave me a set of shelves and so this evening I'm going to sort through my books and reorganize them.
58. Sort out paperwork stored in the Filing Cabinet of Doom. Another weekend project.
64. Learn about Hinduism. I have a slew of books on my desk at work about Hindi mythology. I'll pick those up tomorrow and get to crackin'.

Congrats on getting so much done on your list! One great vegetarian option are the Boca or Morningstar Veggie Crumbles. They can be used in recipes just like ground beef, but they're 100% vegetarian. They are really good and I've snuck them in on family and friends and they never know the difference...
Re: Hinduism and mythology, I highly recommend William S. Buck's translations of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. I have only read the first but it was fantastic and it is only a matter of time before I conquer the second.
Go you with your list progress!
You are really getting somewhere! I've been saying I'm going to do the plastic bag one for a while now (so easy) and yet I haven't yet purchased the reusable ones. I need to do that.
My filing cabinet of doom is SCARY and I generally avoid it like the devil. That one needs to be on my list as well.
You've been tagged gorgeous! Check my blog.
Congrats! You're trucking right along with your goals. I really want to make up a list of my own, so thanks for the inspiration. Have you posted a pic of your zombie 'brarian tat on Myspace? Gotta see it!
JEN! I miss you so much and I love your blog to pieces.
April -- I am checking the 'brary for that book this afternoon. And I'll be checking out that tag as well.
Katie -- I'm amazed by how many groceries fit into the canvas bags. I get two bags of groceries a week using the canvas bags, whereas before I was toting 20 plastic bags.
Andi -- I need to snap a picture of that tattoo. It is nearly healed up and looking pretty.
