- Author, Author by David Lodge -- contemporary literature about the classic Henry James
- The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimin -- imaginative Young Adult literature
- The Nightwatch by Sarah Waters -- contemporary literature about World War II
- Hamlet by William Shakespeare -- this play counted towards my Shakespeare Challenge
- The Masterpiece by Emile Zola -- I reread this novel for a library newsletter and it counted towards my Art Reading Challenge.
- BUST Magazine -- I carried around this magazine for a full-week. It was filled to the brim with excellent articles, an embroidery project, and a recipe for Ginger Snap Cookies that I'm baking this afternoon.
I've noticed my nightstand is quite full and I've set myself an ambitious reading list for April:
- The Post-Office Girl by Stefan Zwieg -- I missed the deadline for the Slaves of Golconda Read, but I plan on finishing this book.
- Angels and Insects by A.S. Byatt -- I've had this volume of two novellas on my TBR for five years, hightime they were read!
- The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing -- a coworker recommended this book and said that it is an absolute cure-all for the desire to have more children.
- The Collected Children's Stories by Sylvia Plath -- At last, Plath I haven't read!
- The Mystery of Edwin Drood by Charles Dickens -- a read for the Classics Challenge and preparation for Drood.
- Frenchmen's Creek by Daphne du Maurier -- I'm reading this for a review and because I adored Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel.
- The Neverending Story by Michael Ende -- for the Once Upon a Time Challenge.
- Drood by Dan Simmons -- I've heard rave reviews of this book and I love Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins. This will also count for my Chunkster Challenge!
- The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie -- on my quest to read all of her novels!
Whew! Looks like I will have a busy and satisfying reading month ahead. Luckily, it has been raining continuously here in Georgia -- most conducive for reading.

Good luck with your April reads. Be sure to post the reviews. My birthday resolution is a book a month as lame as it seems. I am always on the hunt for a good book!
Feel free to still join in on the discusion of the PO Girl whenever you finish! It's been interesting to hear everyone's views on the book--I really liked it. I really liked Frenchman's Creek, but it doesn't touch Rebecca when it comes to a really good, finely crafted novel. Still I thought it was very entertaining. And I think I need to read some Zola pretty soon, too. Enjoy finishing your books!
Yes, Amanda, please do tell us what you think of Post Office Girl. It doesn't matter when you post at. all.
