Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

A week has passed with nary a blog post in sight. Unfortunately this is Harry Potter's fault. I'm old and going to the 12:15 a.m. showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Wednesday morning knocked me for a loop. I went to bed at 4 a.m. and woke up at 11:30 a.m. for work. I worked until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and then had to be back at work at 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Needless to say I've been wandering around in a sleepless daze trying to get my schedule back on track. Well, that and I've been absorbed in The Ghost Writer.

What did I think of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Meh, it was okay. I enjoyed it. This time I was smart and did not reread the novel prior to the movie. Usually I finish a reread right before the movie release and then complain loudly about all the things messed up. I think the movie lacked conviction. I should have been moved in several parts and I wasn't and I wish there had been more of Tom Riddle's past worked into the film.

Sam indulged me and attended the movie event. That's him, above, catching a few z's before the film. Sam never jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon, so he spent the movie A). wondering what was going on, and B). making Star Wars jokes. Also we were trapped in a theater filled with emo teenagers. My small group booed the New Moon trailer, but we could barely be heard over the squees of rabid teen girls.

Me -- super excited about Harry Potter and Sam doing his best to fake it.

Optimus and I hanging out at the theater.

Erin is excited!

Shannon is excited, too, and Sarah is doing her best to stay awake.

Wow, You're night sounded alot like mine. My husband indulges my Harry Potter obsession.
Your rating of the movie was spot on... too much teenage horomones, not enough information that is important to the rest of the series. I just hope they don't cut out important stuff in the next movies.
P.S. I love your blog title...very clever!
