Random Thoughts, OR, Boredom and Lethargy Combine!

  • I'm sitting at the coffee shop with the cat.  He's blithely asleep in his carrier.  Today the exterminator had to come by the house for another flea treatment.  We can't go home until after 9 p.m. and then there will be much vacuuming, washing, and laundry to do.
  • I have a new morning ritual.  I wake up early in the morning and drive to the local coffee shop.  I usually arrive around 6:30 a.m., but I hope to start arriving closer to 6 a.m.  This allows me an hour or more to drink tea and read before heading off to work.  Somehow, it makes the day more bearable.
  • Tomorrow I think I'll go to the Farmer's Market after my doctor's appointment.
  • Speaking of doctor appointments, we have another ultrasound of Atticus tomorrow.
  • I really need to finish the craft lair and the last bits of unpacking.  After all, I have a nursery to decorate.
  • I'm fighting the urge to go to the library.  Seriously, Amanda, you have too many books to read as it is.
  • I wish I could organize a snarky tea party and invite Shirley Jackson, Patricia Highsmith, and Sylvia Plath.
  • The word "epic" is -- apparently -- the current overused hipster word of choice.
  • A baking spree is in my future.
  • Maybe I can combine my desire to visit the library and a baking spree by only checking out cookbooks.
  • Obviously, I'm pretty good at talking myself into doing things I know I don't need to do (like visiting a library while I already have a 5 million books on my TBR)
  • Hyperbole is also a skill I possess.
  • Tomorrow, I plan on having a fabulous day.

You and I are like minds. If my name were the name of a corporation the tag line would be "Prone to Hyperbole". I think it just means we are enthusiastic.

Ugh. Totally agree about "epic." If I hear teenagers say it one more time, I'll vomit.
