The Weekend...

First a note on computer stuff: I thought I'd be posting more as my DSL kit arrived from ATT on Friday night.  I set it up and got nothing, I called the tech line on Saturday and they said they'd send a technician on Monday.  The technician came out and apparently the problem is with my outdoor phone lines so a different tech will come by tomorrow.  I've been promised I'll be rockin' with the internet on Tuesday evening.  Needless to say I keep not blogging because I think I'm going to have more ready access soon.  I couldn't stand it anymore so I'm at Starbucks blogging  away.

Now... onto my weekend:

Hope's first soccer game was Saturday.  Her team lost (3 to zip) but Hope had fun and is still learning the game.  Her coach says she needs to work on being "mean".  She apologizes every time she bumps into an opposing player!

A date day in Athens that consisted of pumpkin spice lattes and purchasing books (I was really good and just bought one book).

We had loads of fun.

Of course we had tons of food.  We ate dinner at 5 Star Day. My meal consisted of a chicken with a delicious Jamaican rub, rice with black beans, corn muffins, and macaroni and cheese.

Sam had stuffed meatloaf, mashed potatoes, a corn muffin, and black-eyed peas.  Not pictured:  the banana pudding we shared.

On Sunday, Hope baked a chocolate cake for Sam's birthday and she decorated it with Snickers.

It was wonderful.

There we have it -- a busy weekend indeed.  I hope the rest of you all had fabulous weekends!

Oh my GOD! Chocolate cake WITH SNICKERS?! That's just sinful to the max, and I want to try it ASAP. I baked a red velvet this week with homemade butter cream (thanks to Katie's recipe at Mama the Reader). Which, actually, I think was Martha Stewart's recipe. But I'm giving Katie the credit.

I want your beauty mark piercing. Trying to decide if I could get away with one of those at work. Hmmmm.

Andi -- use my argument: "universities are founded on the principals of intellectual freedom, creative expression, embracing diversity and challenging small-minded assumptions. Piercings and tattoos express and embrace intellectual thought, creativity, and diversity and challenge dissenters of these freedoms." Then you join the Church of Body Modification and THEY DON'T HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON!
