Last July's Lemon Blueberry Loaf Cake
Each summer I get a wild hankering for blueberries. I adore blueberries, they're sweet, fresh, and slightly tart (much like myself). I've made plans for a blueberry picking excursion the first weekend of July and July just happens to be National Blueberry Month.
I'm anticipating quarts and quarts of berries so in addition to my jam making and baby food making plans there will, of course, be baking. I thought I might share links to some enticing blueberry dishes:
Apple Blueberry Shortcake
Blueberry Crumb Bars
Orange and Nutmeg Blueberry Cake
Old-Glory Cherry Blueberry Pie
Blueberry Buckle
Blueberry Zucchini Bread
Blueberry and White Chocolate Coffee Cake
Lemon Blueberry Scones
Little Blueberry Upside-Down Cakes
Blueberry Pecan Coffee Cake
Blueberry Oatmeal Cookies
Crunchy Oatmeal Blueberry Pecan Cookies
Vegan Peach Berry Crumble
Oatmeal Blueberry Applesauce Muffins
Blueberry Pancakes
Summer Berry Pudding
I know, I know... I'm never going to make all of these recipes, but I like to have choices. So waddya think? Which recipe should I start with? What blueberry-filled delectables are you planning to make this July?

So excited about these recipes! Yay. And even more excited about the blogs that they are leading me to. I love your cooking posts. Oh, and your coffeehouse posts. *sigh* I miss my coffeehouse. They closed down YEARS ago.
Funny story - when I was in the hospital about to have my second son, the doctors had me pacing the hospital halls. It was July and they had a display set up for various things going on in July. One item said, and this is a direct quote: "July is National July for Blueberries Month!" Jason and I just found this hysterical. I mean, of course July would be National July for Blueberries Month. If February was National July for Blueberries Month, that would just be crazy. :D We liked it so much that we took a picture through the glass. I will now always associate blueberry month with my middle son.
conveniently enough, we're not out of town that weekend! so maybe some tag along picking is in order.
Wow, lots of blueberry recipes! Thank you. We don't get that many blueberries here in the Netherlands and/or they will always be quite expensive, but I have two packets in my freezer that I bought on special offer. I'll have a good look at your recipes and make one, or two. Or... oh, by then the blueberries will have run out. ;-)
That's a great story, Amanda! LOL!
One day, Catherine, we will get together in Athens for coffee/food/berry-picking//thrifting/book-swapping/kid-cuddling/baking goodness. One day.
