Sam and I had a marvelous plan: this year we were only going to buy Christmas Gifts for the kids and not exchange gifts with each other. The idea was that for our second anniversary in January we were going to go out of town for two nights.
Then we found out Hope needed braces.
Then we found out round one of braces (scheduled for the first week in January) would cost $2,500 and insurance doesn't cover one cent.
Okay, scratch the out of town plans. Instead we are exchanging gifts. I already gave Sam his gift: a pair of tickets to see Rammenstein. He will be going with his good friend Andrew for a guy's night of German-metal-techno garbage... ahem... I mean music. He is very excited.
Sam says he wants to buy me a Nook for Christmas. I must say I'm intrigued by e-Readers, but I explained to him that nothing -- NOTHING -- will replace good ol' tangible books in my nerdy hands. I can't imagine not buying, holding, smelling my books. Yes, I am a book sniffer, guilty as charged, why would I want to sniff an e-Reader?
Anyhoo, I've been thinking about alternatives to an e-Reader for Christmas. So I humbly present to you my Santa list, intended for the Hubby to see and sharing with you all so you can bask in my dorkiness:

- New fluffy bed pillows complete with an uninterrupted afternoon nap
- Wreck this Journal
- Nesting Doll Measuring Cups
- Black Apple prints, notecards, etc... I love all of her things!
- Giftcard to Yarn Rhapsody (local yarn store)
- A pedicure
- A Baby (just kidding... or am?)

Ooh! I call dibs on the pedicure. I still have specks of wedding day polish on my toes. Gross! My Christmas break is cut in half (meh public university) but I'll figure something out.
Kristin Lavransdatter is AMAZING. Honestly, I love my kindle. I have a little device that carries hundreds of books with me at a time. If I get to the coffee shop and change my mind about what I want to read, no problem. You know me. I used to carry 4-5 books in my purse at all times. Now I have hundreds! You can also read crap in public without the paranoia that others are judging you.
