Early in the week:
- Sunday I managed to sleep nearly the entire day. I lounged in bed, alternating between sleeping and staring out the window until one in the afternoon. Granted, I didn't go to bed until well after 3 a.m. due to a late night out with Inky Darcy to see Batman.
- Which, by the way, RULED. We were cheering and utterly excited anytime the Joker or Two Face were evil. Hands down the best comic book movie I've seen.
- "Who is Inky Darcy" you may be asking yourself? Well, he is the guy I've been dating for nearly two months and seeing as I would like to avoid spilling TOO much personal information on the interwebs that I may one day regret -- oh how we learn from the past -- I've adopted the nickname Traci devised for him.
- "Why Inky Darcy," you ask, "what could that possibly mean?" Well he is tall and handsome and wonderful -- much like the hero from Pride and Prejudice (Mr. Darcy) -- excepting he has many tattoos. Hence, Inky Darcy.
- Sunday afternoon I developed a heinous sinus headache and subsequently was forced to load up on Benadryl. I felt very Valley of the Dolls as I swooned into a troubling, deep sleep filled with dreaming that my HR manager at work was friends with Alan Moore and they wrangled large serpents. And then I was stuck riding some weird bicycle to my mom's house while trying to carry the Kid and taking Beau the Kittycat to a lawyer's office.
- Seriously, what the hell is wrong with me?!
- Anyways, I ended up sleeping until 7 p.m., woke up for a few hours, and went back to bed at 10 p.m.
- Monday I went to my mom's house and cut out the orange denim skirt that will one day sport a saucy owl stitched on.
- Monday night was spent reading, hanging out with Best Friend, and eating at a restaurant that was out of pickles, baked potatoes, and sprouts. Ugh.
So what about today?
Today has been one of those days were I simply feel satisfied with life. Little things that bring me contendedness:
- I'm wearing my favorite shirt; the Sylvia Plath Easy Bake Oven Company shirt.
- My "Reading is Sexy" bumper sticker arrived in the mail today and is rockin' on Matilda (my car).
- Beau the Kittycat was extra snugly.
- I tried a Black Current Tea today at work that was divine.
- There is a thunderstorm.
- Tonight I get to curl up with Harry Potter and read the raining night away.
- I also get to spend time with Inky Darcy tonight. Which, of course, always makes me happy.
Of course I have a few things bothering me, but who doesn't? I simply try to focus on things like books and tea and thunderstorms and things seem not so bad.
