I've decided that April -- my birthday month -- will be super-mega-reading month. I'm dying for some time to read. I have a half-day off on my birthday (April 27th) and it is Readathon time on April 21st. I'm hoping that this will give me some time to really dig into some books.
I'm actually writing this post a few days ahead of time and at this point I'm looking to use the weekend to finish The Hunger Games and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. We'll see how that goes.
I have most ambitiously stacked up my TBR pile for April with 12 books. Hopefully I'll finish most of these as I'm not where I want to be with my various and sundry reading challenges (that, however, is a different post).
April To-Be-Read Pile
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
The Bronte Myth by Lucasta Miller
This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Leavenworth Case by Anna Katherine Green
Zelda: A Life by Nancy Milford
Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
Richard the III by William Shakespeare
The War of the Roses by Alison Weir
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset
This Rough Magic by Paul Alexander
Happy April Reading!

Impressive reading list! I never think that far ahead about my reading, maybe I should start. I look forward to hearing about Fitzgerald and Hardy, haven't read either of those. My last Fitzgerald was Tender is the Night and I was very disappointed, so I hope This Side of Paradise is good.
Amazing choices! I am way behind with my challenges too, and I also want to fix that in April, although I am not as daring as you are. On my TBR pile are only 3 titles, but I will be content when I have finished them.
Happy reading, I am really looking forward to your thoughts!
Hooray for April birthdays! Now I'm thinking maybe I should add the Zelda bio to my year of reading Fitzgerald. Hmmm...
I love to see ambitious reading lists! I always make my beginning of the month list far longer than any human could possibly achieve...but it gives me variety, and it does help me get to more reading that I might otherwise put off.
Happy reading to you!
Oh, I'll be looking for your review on the Sylvia Plath book. I just took out her Pulitzer Prize winning poetry book from the library. Some of the poems are definitely depressing, but I'd love to read more from this author.
An ambitious plan. I like it!
I imagine you will blow through the two Susan Collin’s titles. I have yet to read them, but my sister just started The Hunger Games on Sunday of this week and was already about 1/3 of the way through when I saw her Sunday afternoon.
Are you reading The Bell Jar for the first time? I adore that book. Some find it depressing, knowing about Sylvia Plath, but if you separate the author from the story, I think it could be interpreted as a hopeful story. And it is so honest.
