Total Truth Tuesday

I'm engaged.

Yay!

Inky Darcy and I have been dating for roughly three months, but we have been good friends for well over a year and before that I had always noticed him out and about town and different coffee shops, restaurants and bookstores. For a long while I didn't know his name and referred to him as "the big tattooed guy with mohawk."

We formally met at a tattoo shop. I had stopped by with a friend back in July of 2007 to look at tattoos and realized that the cute guy at the counter was the "big tattooed guy with a mohawk" that hung out at the coffee shop I frequented and the rest is history. We were friends for a while and then realized we liked each other, then we tried to unlike each other so that the friendship wouldn't be jeopardized but it was too late. I liked him and he liked me and we just work together.

I'll have to snag a photo of this Inky Darcy of mine to share. In the meantime I'd thought I'd share the top reasons why he is so kick-ass; of course, he is kind and intelligent and handsome and good, but there are also more things about him that I love:
  1. He can quote nearly all of Monty Python's Holy Grail. He even does it in the different voices and is especially humorous when he is recounting the adventures of the Knights who say Ni!
  2. He is essentially all nerd. In addition to his anime wisdom he knows tons about Transformers and dinosaurs.
  3. He has an adorable weakness for puppy dogs.
  4. He gets along exceedingly well with Hope. In fact they are eerily similar.
  5. He is artistic. He tattoos because he loves art. Inky Darcy is always learning about art, doodling, and aspiring to become better at art.
  6. He puts up with my excessive obsession with kissing until my lips are chapped. I am a seriously kissy girl and he doesn't seem to mind.
  7. He values his family. Inky Darcy is devoted to his family and thinks that family is the most important thing in life.
  8. He is every bit as addicted to coffee as I am.
  9. Like me, he enjoys time along to pursue his interests and doesn't feel the need to be with me 24/7. He knows I am a book nerd and that I need my uninterrupted nights of reading.
  10. He is a smart ass. An absolute snark. Just like me!

No date is set yet as we are both wanting a long engagement to work on getting out of debt. I will keep everyone updated and will try to refrain from any more cheesiness.

Congratulations, though keep an eye out. If he shifts from quoting Python to quoting Blackadder, it's time to run for it.
